What is psychotherapy?

The word psychotherapy comes from the Greek psukhē (mind or soul) and therapeia (healing). At its core, psychotherapy is a process of healing through understanding.

At the heart of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. Within this safe and confidential space, the issues you wish to explore are gently and thoughtfully examined. These may include emotional distress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or patterns that feel limiting. But therapy is not only for times of crisis. Anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or simply wants to live with greater clarity and meaning can benefit from this process.

Therapy is a collaborative journey. You take an active role, and together we work to deepen your awareness of yourself, your relationships, and the ways you experience the world.

It is not a space where advice is imposed or decisions are made for you. Each therapeutic process is unique. Rather than telling you what to do, I offer professional guidance and insight to help you understand yourself more fully, develop healthier relationships, and discover new ways forward.

We work together to make sense of what feels overwhelming — at your pace, in your time.

Like the tide, emotions rise and fall.

What returns again and again often has a story.

Therapy offers space to gently explore their rhythm.
